The CHA Drive By Project is an opportunity for former Chicago Housing Authority residents to share their personal memories, stories, and experiences with the community on a new website (http://chadrivebyproject.wordpress.com/). This project is not affiliated with the CHA.
The phrase “Drive By” is sometimes connected to gang violence, but we mean it instead as a way of evoking memory through a quick passage by a location. What do you think of when you drive by the place you used to live? What comes to mind when you think back to what it was like? We are interested in collecting audio and/or video interview to archive for the public to access.
We are interviewing individuals, families and community groups for the project. If you are interested in sharing your stories we would love to hear from you! for more information, please visit http://chadrivebyproject.wordpress.com or send an email to cha.driveby.project@gmail.com or call 312-324-4310.
On Sunday, February 19 the Drive By Project will be recording interviews from 1pm to 4pm in the conference room at LifeStorage Centers South Loop, 2361 S. Wabash. The meeting follows 10am service at Quinn Chapel AME Church. All are welcome. When you arrive at the storage facility please send a text to 312-480-8221 and someone will come and greet you.
