Visiting Lectures

Among the lecturers sponsored by AREA have been curator Nato Thompson (November 2005); artist and food activist Claire Pentecost (May 2006); cybernetics researcher and open-source activist Xabier Barandiaran (June 2006);  anti-poverty activist and community land trust organizer James Tracy (October 2006); a discussion about the theory of Participatory Economics with Michael Albert (November 2007); Welcome Event for the Alternative Press Centre (October 2008). The events have had audiences of between 30-80 people.

An intensive event series was held in 2007 on the theme of How We Learn. All events were held at the Hyde Park Art Center in Summer 2007 unless otherwise noted:
